Folk Dance - State and National Folk Dance
A bill in Congress to have Square Dance, and all its related forms' declared the National Folk Dance of the United States, in perpetuity. Over 30 states have Square Dancing as their state Folk Dance. This committee can help other states who are interested in securing this designation.
Summit Meeting of National/international Organizations
An annual gathering where the organization's Chairmen or Representatives can interface with each other to become better acquainted with each other's goals & opinions. Discuss and develop programs at which they might work cooperatively & more efficiently for the betterment and advancement of our activity. Eight goals were adopted at its fifth meeting in 1996.
It meets Thursday afternoon at the National Square Dance Convention. The topic in 2001 was "Working together to promote the Activity".
